The drummer of Cinderella, Fred Coury, has expressed his openness to a reunion, and he is not alone in this sentiment among the band members.

What Did Fred Coury Say About a Potential Cinderella Reunion?

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Coury discussed the current status of the possibility of Cinderella reuniting.

“It’s interesting that I’ve become this studio musician and have been involved in many recordings. It’s been fulfilling, and I play every day. I’m ready. So I do want to go out and perform. I do want to tour again,” the drummer told Trunk.

“I was speaking to [bassist] Eric [Brittingham] — I talk to Eric frequently — and we’re both prepared for when [singer] Tom [Keifer] says, ‘Let’s do it.’

Cinderella has been inactive for more than ten years, with their last performance occurring on the Monsters of Rock Cruise in the spring of 2014.

Coury further emphasized his desire, stating, “Time’s running out. Everyone is aging, so… And unfortunately, Tom had this setback [canceling his solo tour dates after sustaining a ‘severe vocal muscle strain/injury’ and lost his voice’]. So yes, to answer your question, I do want to tour again, but it has to be significant. Will it be with Cinderella? I don’t know. The door isn’t closed on that. We never officially broke up. Can we all do it? Absolutely. Are we ready? Ready when Tom is. Yes, we will do it. And if it’s not with them, then I’ll perform with someone else.”

What Has Happened Previously With Cinderella?

While the band did not officially disband, they have been on an extended hiatus that has now lasted over a decade. Keifer has found some success in his solo career, releasing two studio albums during the 2010s.

Coury took advantage of this break by becoming a sought-after composer for television and sports productions. Brittingham played briefly in the mid-2010s with the supergroup Devil City Angels before eventually joining Bret Michaels’ solo band.

Sadly, guitarist Jeff LaBar passed away at the age of 58 on July 14, 2021.

In 2016, Keifer was asked about Cinderella’s status in an interview with Rock Revolt Magazine. He stated, “The truth is there have been issues within Cinderella for many years now. Going back decades. They culminated in 2012. We took some significant steps to correct things and made a pact as a band in 2012 that we would not perform until these issues were resolved. That’s how serious it was. The issues remain unresolved, so that’s all I can say about that.”

Brittingham also commented in a 2016 interview with the Talk Toomey podcast, “I don’t think [Tom Keifer is] coming back. So that’s probably the big question. I guess that’s the main question I have: what are we doing?”

What Else Did Fred Coury Say About Cinderella?

In his conversation with Eddie Trunk regarding a possible Cinderella reunion, Coury remarked, “I would love it and I think the fans would love it.”

He added, “And [Tom is] out there performing Cinderella songs anyway [with his solo band]. So, [he can] do it with the [original] guys and give the fans something to enjoy before returning to his own band, which he is very happy with. So that’s the main thing; he’s so content with his [solo] band and they are all great guys. That’s where his loyalty lies; I don’t think he wants to let those guys down. But I don’t believe he would because [a Cinderella reunion] would be more like a one-time event. We’ll see.”

In a previous interview in 2025 with The Metal Voice, Coury mentioned that there had been “a huge tour” offer for 2026, but the band declined.
