Fallout season 2 is officially only one week away, and the show’s cast decided to share a few details on the red carpet.
.
Prime Video held an event for the video game adaptation’s upcoming second season at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The festivities included season 2 stars Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Justin Theroux, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, as well as Todd Howard, the executive producer of the Fallout video games and game director at Bethesda.
Speaking exclusively to Deadline, Howard revealed that he was most looking forward to the video game’s infamous antagonists, the Deathclaws, making their debut in the series. He explained that the reason these creatures didn’t appear in Fallout’s first installment was that there simply wasn’t enough room in season 1’s storyline to do the characters justice. Therefore, the creative team decided to introduce them in season 2 instead.
The game director expressed his happiness with the Deathclaws’ presence in the series. He told the publication that he was also pleased with Fallout season 2 as a whole, adding that everything came together beautifully.
When you see the Deathclaw on screen, which is a very popular enemy in the world of Fallout. We were doing Season 1, like, ‘Are we gonna do Deathclaw?’ [We said] Well, we should give them their own time in season 2, really do them right, tell a little bit of a Deathclaw story. So, it really came together awesome.
Deathclaws are a reptilian species in the Fallout universe, created by the U.S. government to be bioweapons. After the Great War, they escaped from captivity and joined what remained of civilization in the post-apocalyptic wasteland. They became the world’s most terrifying apex predators. Deathclaws are known for their incredible speed and claws that can tear through armor. These deadly creatures remain one of the franchise’s worst nightmares.
Fallout season 2 premieres on December 17, 2025, exclusively on Prime Video.
