Olivia Jean, wife of Jack White, has reportedly filed for divorce after being married to the musician for just over four years, according to a report by TMZ.
The report indicates that 36-year-old Jean filed the papers on June 3 in Nashville, citing “inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper.” She also claimed that she is dependent on White for financial support and requested to be added to his life insurance policy.
The couple separated on the same day the papers were filed, as stated in the report. Neither party has responded to TMZ’s request for comment.

According to Nashville Law Offices, divorces can be granted on “irreconcilable differences” or on specific grounds. The former is classified as a “no-fault divorce,” which does not require proof of grounds.
If both parties cannot agree on the terms of the divorce, it is considered a “fault-based divorce,” requiring one spouse to accuse and prove the grounds for divorce beyond a reasonable doubt.
A variety of reasons are listed in this section, but it’s noted that “inappropriate marital conduct” is the most commonly cited ground for divorce due to its vague nature, covering anything one party considers inappropriate toward the other.
The site states, “…the literal interpretation of this ground implies that something heinous has taken place during the course of the marriage. However, simple everyday actions and inactions can suffice to prove inappropriate marital conduct.”
“Seemingly harmless actions occurring over extended periods may meet the criteria for inappropriate marital conduct, while individual vile acts that shock and dismay might alone be considered inappropriate marital conduct.”

White and Jean were married in April 2022 after the rocker proposed onstage during his concert at the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit.
He invited Jean onstage to perform a duet of “Hotel Yorba,” proposed, and then Third Man Records’ co-founder Ben Swank officiated their wedding ceremony onstage during the encore of the show.
