On Friday, Zach took decisive action and headed to the courthouse, where he submitted documents to initiate divorce proceedings from his actress spouse after an extensive 12 years of marriage. This move has been confirmed by new legal documents acquired by TMZ, shedding light on the couple’s current situation.

The actor, known for his role as quarterback Matt Saracen in the acclaimed NBC series ‘Friday Night Lights’, has cited the standard legal term ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the basis for their separation. Notably, he did not specify a date of separation in the filings, instead indicating that it is 'to be determined'.

Zach and Kiele tied the knot back in December 2012, and together they share two young children: a 7-year-old son named Zeppelin and a 4-year-old daughter named Revel. As part of the divorce proceedings, Zach is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their children, emphasizing his commitment to co-parenting effectively.
