Dog Stabbed by Michigan Woman Who Flees After Posting Attack

A woman from Michigan, identified as Jordan Love, evaded law enforcement for a significant period before finally being apprehended in South Carolina. She is now facing multiple serious charges after allegedly stabbing her dog, sharing images of the injured animal on social media, and subsequently abandoning not only the dog but also several other pets in her care.

Key Facts Surrounding the Disturbing Dog Stabbing Case

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office issued a formal statement regarding the stabbing incident on April 10, although the attack itself reportedly took place earlier, on February 7. Following the attack on her dog, Jordan Love posted a video depicting the injured animal on social media shortly after 1:30 a.m. that same day. It remains uncertain which specific platform she utilized to share this NSFW content or the exact nature of the video.

Hours after the post, around 2 p.m., the Detroit Animal Control (DAC) received a tip-off that prompted them to send officers to Jordan Love’s residence. It is unclear whether the tip was directly related to the social media post. Upon arrival, DAC officers were forced to enter the home and discovered the injured dog in the basement.

Fortunately, the dog was alive but suffered from multiple stab wounds located in its torso. After ensuring the safety of the injured pet, DAC officers took immediate action to seize two additional dogs and four cats found at Jordan Love’s home.

Timeline of Jordan Love’s Arrest and Upcoming Legal Proceedings

After the stabbing incident occurred and before the DAC team arrived at her home, Jordan Love fled not only her residence but also the state of Michigan. It took law enforcement over a month to track her down. On March 20, she was located and taken into custody by law enforcement in Greenville, South Carolina, where the extradition process commenced. She was then returned to Michigan on April 9, escorted by detectives from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

Jordan Love is facing serious charges as stated by Prosecutor Kym Worthy. The charges include second-degree killing/torturing of animals and cruelty to four to ten animals. The first charge carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, while the second charge holds a potential maximum of two years.

Prosecutor Kym Worthy expressed her commitment to addressing animal abuse cases seriously. She stated:

“The WCPO has consistently prioritized the fight against animal abuse. We have actively influenced legislation and advocated for changes in the laws to protect animals. Although we did not foresee the brutality and cruelty represented in this case, our earlier efforts highlight the necessity for improved laws.”

In a court appearance in Michigan at the 36th District Court, Jordan Love was arraigned by Magistrate William Burton. Due to her history of fleeing, she was granted a bond set at $50,000, which allows for either cash payment or surety, accompanied by GPS monitoring. It remains unknown whether she was able to post bail, as a bond re-determination hearing with Judge McConico was scheduled for April 14, the outcome of which is still pending.

Additionally, Jordan Love is expected to attend further court hearings presided over by Judge Marlena Taylor on April 21 and 28. According to the prosecutor’s office, the hearing on April 21 will focus on establishing probable cause, while the session on April 28 will serve as a “preliminary examination.”

Unrelated Incident: Woman Arrested for Killing Dog at Airport

In a separate and unrelated event, another woman was arrested more than a month after Jordan Love’s incident for a fatal attack on her dog. This event occurred on December 16, 2024, at the Orlando International Airport. Officials informed Alison Agatha Lawrence, 57, that she could not board her flight with her dog due to missing paperwork. In a tragic response, Alison allegedly took her pet into a women’s bathroom and drowned the dog. By the time airport personnel discovered the deceased animal, Alison had already boarded her flight without a second thought. An ongoing investigation led to her arrest on March 18 in Clermont, Florida.
