A brand new Avengers: Doomsday trailer and poster have been shown off. In it, Doctor Doom goes up against the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four.
The newest Doomsday trailer was shown off to fans in attendance at Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con 2026 panel. According to those in attendance, the footage heavily links back to Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Doom’s history together, and features some wild moments.
What happens in the new Avengers: Doomsday trailer?
The footage shown featured Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) talking about Doom, saying that he’s always had to be the smartest person in the room. Among the people in the room with them are Magneto (Ian McKellen), Richards, Sue Storm, and others.
Doom says that all of “these people” have lived stolen lives, and must now give them back. Reed grabs Victor and asks if he was the one who did this, while Thor goes in with his axe. Doom flicks away Thor’s axe, then begins raising up Sentinels from the ground.
Alongside the new trailer, Marvel Studios actually did release a brand new poster for the movie for all to see. The new poster shows off our best look at Doctor Doom yet, with Downey Jr.’s character stalking menacingly toward the camera in his full armor. It’s an amazing look, and one that draws from some of the best looks Doom has ever had.
“Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
The film is set to feature a huge cast, which includes Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright’s Shuri/Black Panther, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, among others. Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is set to release a year later on December 17, 2027.
