Duran Lantink’s First Couture Collection Reviewed by Forum Members

In April 2025, Duran Lantink was appointed as the creative director of Jean Paul Gaultier. The Dutch fashion designer became the French fashion house’s first permanent creative director, following JPG’s retirement in 2020. The collection featured tulle overflowing with layers, bold volumes, contrasting hues, striped bows that seemed almost endless, and a variety of asymmetries.

Review of Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Fall 2026 Collection

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“A lot of Galliano for Dior and Demna for Balenciaga… just awful.” [IndigoHomme]

“TERRIBLE!” [pradabananas]

“Couture is dying a slow death with all these showpieces. No real wardrobe. This is sad. There are some great pieces here, wonderful ideas, but it’s overblown. It gets away from the designer. He goes into a fantasy world that is unattainable.” [brandon J pierre]

“How do you sleep at night knowing you’re designing these kinds of clothes?” [elleo]

“I see A LOT of potential!! Not gonna lie!” [thiago]

“Love it! Best couture show this season!” [GERGIN]

“I can’t remember the last time a fashion show gave me something I had never seen before or could’ve even imagined…but tonight, it happened look after look after look. I am beyond intrigued by this, one of the most daring couture debuts in a long time.” [Mr-Dale]

“Extraordinary! Bravo.” [MModa]
