CBS’ Thursday night lineup will be a little less haunted this fall. While Ghosts is preparing for its sixth season on the network, it was previously announced that the comedy mainstay will miss out on premiere week, instead holding off until midseason to return to Woodstone Mansion. However, it’s for a good reason. Showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman are welcoming a new sitcom this fall in Eternally Yours, following a coven of vampires led by Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards), whose 500 years together have turned their loving union into a passionless marriage. It’s also not the only new show ready to define a transformed evening of entertainment.
With the Kathy Bates-led hit <em>Matlock</em> being held for midseason as well, the stage is set for Cupertino to shine. The latest series from The Good Wife creators Michelle and Robert King reunites the creative powerhouses with regular collaborator Mike Colter, who is the David in a “David vs. Goliath” legal drama after being fired without cause from his position with a Silicon Valley start-up to cheat him out of his lucrative stock options. Determined to help others fight back against towering tech giants, he opens a firm with another aggrieved lawyer, played by Rachel Keller, beginning a high-stakes legal battle with the power players in the industry. CBS revealed back in April that the series would close out Thursday nights in the fall at 10 PM ET, following the Kings’ other series, Elsbeth. Until Monday, however, an exact date for all these series was not confirmed.
The network has now finally unveiled its full schedule for the fall, confirming that Thursday night programming would kick off on October 8. Continuing to lead off the night will be the ever-popular Young Sheldon spin-off, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage at 8 PM, picking up from a cliffhanger finale that saw Mandy’s (Emily Osment) brother Connor (Dougie Baldwin) getting arrested. Eternally Yours will pair up with it in the 8:30 PM slot, followed by the double dose of the Kings between Elsbeth and Cupertino. The night accounts for two of the three new shows CBS will be debuting this fall, joining the latest NCIS branch, NCIS: New York, which premieres on Tuesday, October 6.

While Port and Wiseman will give the spotlight to their new supernatural ensemble,
Ghosts
will still make an appearance on CBS later this year. Two new two-part specials following the Arondekars and the ghostly inhabitants of their bed-and-breakfast will cover Halloween and Christmas on October 29 and December 10, respectively, keeping up the show’s holiday season tradition.
