She aims to teach her daughter, Daisy, the importance of dreaming without limits. Perry emphasizes that anyone can achieve their aspirations regardless of their background, ethnicity, economic circumstances, or educational level. Her commitment to breaking barriers serves as a powerful example for Daisy and other young girls.
Meanwhile, King, who has candidly discussed her apprehensions about the journey, expressed her hope that her participation will motivate others to venture beyond their comfort zones. “Once I do it,” she mentioned, “then the doors will open for so many other people who thought, ‘Okay, I was one of those reluctant people, but now I’m here and I am really, really excited to go.'” Her words highlight the transformative potential of stepping into the unknown.

After experiencing sexual assault, she shifted her focus from the stars to advocating for survivors’ rights, drafting the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights which was successfully passed in Congress and the United Nations. Now, after a decade of activism, Nguyen is determined to honor her former self and pursue her passion for space exploration.
