Jessie James Decker has expressed her commitment to not expanding her family any further—at least, that’s her sincere hope.
Following the arrival of their fourth child, Denver, who is now 14 months old, her husband, Eric Decker, underwent a vasectomy. Despite this surgical procedure, the talented singer of “Should Have Known Better” is ready to face whatever life may bring her way.
In an exclusive interview with E! News, she candidly shared, “I’m always very nervous,” revealing her awareness of the unpredictability of life and the possibility of unexpected events. “I’ve learned throughout my life that I’m always that one percent of, ‘This could happen.’”
The effectiveness of the vasectomy, which is designed to prevent sperm from entering the semen, is indeed touted as being 99.99 percent effective, as stated by the Cleveland Clinic. However, Jessie acknowledges that an unexpected pregnancy can still occur, and her concerns are valid.
Jessie revealed, “Eric had a lot of NFL player buddies who also got vasectomies, and then somehow they were that one percent where it happened [to].” At 37, she expressed her ongoing apprehension by saying, “So even though it’s permanent, I’m always like, ‘Man, I don’t know.’ I’m still nervous every month, to be honest.”
Despite her playful comments about her and Eric, who is now 38, seemingly having a penchant for welcoming babies into their lives, Jessie made it clear: “We’re done.” They are proud parents to three other children: Vivianne, 11, Eric Jr., 9, and Forrest, 7.
