The original Fyre Festival, held in 2017, has become infamous as a symbol of festival failure. Upon his release, McFarland sought to recreate the Fyre Festival experience, hoping to shift public perception after several documentaries chronicled the festival’s collapse.

However, efforts to organize a second festival, slated for Isla Mujeras and later Playa Del Carmen, were met with skepticism from local officials who denied any knowledge of the event’s planning, despite McFarland’s claims of actively securing contracts. Ticket packages for the anticipated 2025 Fyre Fest 2 experience were priced between $1,400 for one person (excluding accommodations and travel) and an astonishing $1.1 million for the premium experience. The highest-tier package, termed the “Prometheus God of Fyre package,” included complimentary accommodations and a private air charter for a group of eight.
