Greta Van Fleet just shared a cryptic video on social media, leading some fans to speculate about a potential breakup.
The group released a montage of clips from various music videos they’ve produced over the years, beginning with their 2017 hit “Highway Tune,” which launched their career. At the end of the video, a message appears that reads, “Thanks for the wild ride. Love, Josh, Jake, Sam and Daniel,” which is also the caption of the post.
This post prompted numerous comments from fans questioning its meaning.
“This better not be a breakup announcement,” one fan wrote, while another pointed out that Gibson recently unveiled a signature Jake Kiszka SG Standard guitar.
“I’m hyperventilating and projectile vomiting do NOT play,” another anxious fan commented.
Greta also shared the video on their Instagram story and YouTube channel but did not provide any additional context regarding its meaning.
Several fans on Reddit noted that the end of the video features a clip of unfamiliar music, suggesting that the post may actually be teasing new music instead.
“Maybe this is the first of a series of posts expressing gratitude for a wonderful time so far, with something new to come. There’s been no indication of them breaking up; they’ve mentioned that a new album is already done. They would be more vocal about it if it truly was the end,” one person speculated.
At this point, there’s no way to ascertain what it means.

Before this social media post, the band hadn’t shared anything on Instagram since July 2025 when they celebrated the two-year anniversary of their third studio album Starcatcher (2023). According to Setlist.fm, they performed their most recent show at a festival in September 2024.

Jake Kiszka has been involved with a side project called Mirador since 2024 when he formed it with Chris Turpin from Ida Mae. They released a self-titled album this past September and spent much of 2025 touring.
