Grown Ups 3 Plot Details, Cast, and Release Window Revealed

New details about Adam Sandler’s highly anticipated Grown Ups 3 have surfaced online. The sequel was officially confirmed at Netflix Upfront earlier this year, though story and production details were still under wraps. A new report reveals the film’s plot, cast, release date, and other production details.

What does the new Grown Ups 3 report reveal?

According to a report from What’s on Netflix, Grown Ups 3’s release is still at least a year away. While there’s no official release date, it is expected to come out sometime in the summer of 2027.

An early synopsis promises a fun and emotional installment. It reads, “The Grown Ups franchise revolves around a set of childhood friends who are brought back together as adults over the course of a summer vacation. The threequel picks up with Lenny (Sandler), Marcus (Spade), Rob (Schneider), Kurt (Rock), Eric (James), and their significant others after the death of a close friend, as they travel to Europe to spread his ashes and prove that they can still be fun – even in their sixties.”

Grown Ups 3 will reportedly bring back the majority of the original cast. That includes Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, Kevin James, Maria Bello, David Spade, and Rob Schneider.

The report also states that the production is set to begin next month, on July 6, and will last until October 14, 2026. The only known filming locations at this time are Boston, New Jersey, Italy, and France.

Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions will return to co-produce Grown Ups 3. He will be joined by wife, Jackie Sandler, Judit Maull, Tim Herlihy, and Jack Giarraputo as producers, with Judit Maull and Kevin Grady serving as executive producers. He is also writing the script alongside Herlihy, his longtime collaborator. Kyle Newacheck will direct.

If Grown Ups 3 releases as estimated, 14 years would have passed since the second film. Although the sequel received abysmal ratings from critics, it was a box-office hit. It ended its theatrical run with $247 million in global box office against an $80 million budget.
