Demna has now been installed as Gucci creative director for a little over twelve months, subsequent to the not-so-shocking departure of Sabato De Sarno. The Georgian designer is now onto his fourth collection as the design lead behind the iconic Italian fashion house (founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci). At 8.30pm sharp on Saturday night, names like Lindsay Lohan, Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian, and a whole other host of A-list stars flocked to Times Square in New York to bear witness to Demna’s Gucci Cruise 2027 collection. Demna cast Paris Hilton, Candice Swanepoel, Tom Brady, and Cindy Crawford (to name just a select few) to embody his debut resort show for the brand. Peacoats, trenches, pencil skirts, sharp tailoring, and pure unapologetic Italian glamour were stripped back into what Demna described as “GucciCore”.
