Happy’s Place has become a favorite among fans. As the second season of the show approaches its conclusion, viewers are eager to learn about the future of this NBC sitcom. Fortunately, there is positive news for fans hoping for a Season 3.
Has NBC Canceled Happy’s Place or renewed it for Season 3?
NBC has officially renewed Happy’s Place for Season 3. This sitcom, along with the mockumentary-style series St. Denis Medical, has received renewal from NBC. St. Denis Medical also has two seasons and is set for a third.
“Both ‘St. Denis Medical’ and ‘Happy’s Place’ have delivered comedic brilliance over their first two seasons, truly connecting with our audience through hilarious characters, and remain hugely important and successful programs in our primetime and Peacock lineup,” stated Lisa Katz, president of scripted content for NBC & Peacock (via Variety).
Katz further expressed gratitude, saying, “A huge thank you to the producers, casts, and crews of both shows who have brought these wonderful stories to life and will now continue to tell their laugh-out-loud stories.”
Happy’s Place is a multi-camera sitcom created by Kevin and Julie Abbott. It centers around a woman who inherits a bar from her father after his passing but discovers that she has a younger half-sister who also claims part of the inheritance. The series features Reba McEntire, Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn, among others.
Apart from these two shows, NBC currently has only two other comedies on its schedule: The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins and Stumble.
Reports indicate that NBC has three comedy pilots in development this year. These include a private eye show set in L.A. from Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, a comedy featuring two therapists with Jane Lynch and Katey Sagal, as well as a romantic comedy with Jamie Lee Curtis serving as an executive producer.
