Impossible Thriller Achieves Success at Last

Henry Cavill has many iconic roles under his belt; some fans love him for accurately portraying The Witcher, some still long to see him as Man of Steel, and everyone is excited for his upcoming franchise projects like Warhammer 40,000 and Highlander. The actor has made some amazing action movies, including The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He never shies away from experimenting, as seen in his films like Enola Holmes, where he plays a version of the iconic Sherlock Holmes, and Argylle, wherein he plays the titular flat-top-haired superspy. So it’s unimaginable that he has some underrated movies in his filmography.

Among them is Night Hunter, the 2018 crime thriller directed by David Raymond. It sees Cavill as a police detective teaming with a vigilante (Ben Kingsley), who are drawn into the case of a serial predator who abducts and murders young women. Things take a turn when their investigation leads to a seemingly simple-minded man who is arrested, and an even more dangerous conspiracy is uncovered. With its chilling atmosphere, icy setting, and cliché story, the 14 percent Rotten Tomatoes-rated movie divided critics and the audience, who awarded it a 51 percent on the review aggregator.

It has brilliant performances from Alexandra Daddario as Rachel Chase, Stanley Tucci as Commissioner Harper, and Brendan Fletcher as Simon Stulls, as well as Simon’s twin, Nomis. Further rounding out the cast are Minka Kelly as Angie, Nathan Fillion as Matthew Quinn, and Mpho Koaho as Glasow. While it fell short at the box office, earning only $1 million. However, the feature has found a new life on streaming, appearing consistently on the top 10 charts. Owing to it, Night Hunter has been on the top 10 charts of Paramount+ for over a month, as per FlixPatrol.

The actor will soon return with some compelling titles like Guy Ritchie’s In the Grey, in which he’ll share the screen with Jake Gyllenhaal. All eyes are also on his high-profile projects like Warhammer 40,000 and the Highlander reboot, which is helmed by John Wick vet Chad Stahelski. For fans of Cavill, there’s much to look forward to in the coming years.
