Jeana Keough’s Tongue Cancer Battle Leaves Her Silent, Daughter Reveals

Kara Bosworth Discusses Jeana Keough’s “Relentless” Treatments Following Tongue Cancer Spread

Jeana Keough is allowing her family to speak on her behalf these days.

As The Real Housewives of Orange County alum continues her treatment for tongue cancer, her daughter Kara Bosworth provided an update on her mother’s recovery, indicating that the Bravo star is currently unable to speak.

“At this moment, Jeana isn’t talking,” Kara posted on her Instagram Stories on July 27. “The pain in her tongue and throat, combined with the mucus from radiation in that area, is just unbearable. Poor mama has to spit into tissues all day long.”

Kara initially revealed that Jeana, 70, was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue earlier this month and has consistently updated fans on her mother’s journey as she confronts this serious illness.

“After surgery to remove the cancer, we were optimistic that the most challenging part was behind her,” the 37-year-old—mother to children Decker, 10, Vaughn, 5, Stetson, 2, and late son McCoy, with husband Kyle Bosworth—wrote on July 23 on a GoFundMe page for her mother. “However, when doctors suggested a second surgery to remove lymph nodes, they found that the cancer had spread. What we believed would be a one-time surgery turned into a full-fledged battle against cancer.”
