Jerry O’Connell Poses With Wife Rebecca Romijn’s Ex John Stamos 2 Years After Public Feud
Jerry O'Connell does not identify with his birth name.
In fact, the Stand By Me star revealed that no one in his life calls him by his legal name, not even his family.
“Well, my real name is Michael Jeremiah O’Connell,” Jerry shared during a joint appearance with his mother Linda O’Connell on the May 8 episode of Live with Kelly & Mark. “But I was always Jerry.”
His mother confirmed, clarifying to hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that the 52-year-old’s “real name is Michael Jeremiah Witkowski O’Connell.”
“His grandfather is Jeremiah,” explained Linda, whose maiden name is Witkowski, “and our favorite cousin is Jerry DeScipio.”
However, she never called Jerry by his full name at home—even during times when he misbehaved.
“No, I was always a Jerry,” the Kangaroo Jack actor remarked. “Sometimes I look at myself, and I go, ‘yeah, I am a Jerry.’ I don’t look like a Michael, actually.”
Indeed, Jerry was quite the troublemaker as a child. As Linda described, “He was very active, very energetic and always in trouble.”
