Johnny Mathis is officially stepping away from the spotlight of live performances.

The announcement of his retirement from live stage performances came through a heartfelt Facebook post on Wednesday, March 26. This post highlighted that all scheduled shows beyond June 2025 will be canceled, marking his final performance on May 18 at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, NJ. The statement shared by his team reads, “As many of you may already be aware, Johnny Mathis is approaching his 90th birthday this year.” It continues, “It is with profound regret that we announce his retirement from touring and live concerts due to Mr. Mathis’ advancing age and memory issues that have intensified.”

The statement concludes poignantly, stating, “Johnny Mathis and his dedicated team express their deepest gratitude to all his fans around the globe for your unwavering love and support for his incredible music! It has truly been ‘Wonderful, Wonderful.’
