Molly Sims is openly expressing her disappointment.
After Jones Road Beauty unveiled a new makeup line named “Wide Awake,” the model criticized the brand and its founder Bobbi Brown for adopting the same name as her YISE brand’s top-selling under-eye cream.
“I don’t usually share things like this,” Sims, who established YISE in 2023, stated in a video posted on Instagram on September 19, “but over the past few days, I’ve received messages from friends, customers, brand partners, and retail partners who have reached out to inform me that a brand I love and support not only used the exact name of a product I launched two years ago, but their marketing copy and campaign feel a bit too familiar.”
The 53-year-old—whose YISE Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream was released in March 2024—further elaborated on the difficulties of producing her products with a small yet dedicated team.
“I have the privilege of collaborating with a predominantly female team who work incredibly hard every day to make this dream a reality,” she shared. “My marketing team consists of five—we are small, but we are mighty. We operate on tight budgets and are remarkably resourceful.”
