Jordyn Woods provided Karl-Anthony Towns with the ultimate assist.
After the New York Knicks triumphed over the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 to claim the 2026 NBA championship on June 13, the basketball star (affectionately known as KAT) expressed gratitude towards his fiancée’s lucky purse for aiding the team in achieving their historic victory.
“Hey, Papa, we got the bag,” Towns remarked in a clip shared by the NBA. “The bag made it. The bag’s undefeated, man.”
Towns further stated, “I want everyone in New York to know that bag won the championship.”
In the clip, Woods held Towns’ hand while showcasing the team’s good luck charm: an orange clutch from her clothing brand Woods by Jordyn.
However, Towns—and Knicks fans—haven’t considered the bag lucky without reason.
After all, the Knicks have won every game this season where Woods has carried the bag. The only time they lost recently was due to her adherence to the no-bag policy at Madison Square Garden during Game 3 of the NBA finals on June 8.
What about the accessory’s origin story?
