Alexandra Grant and Keanu Reeves are enjoying a wonderful journey together.

The visual artist discussed how the couple—who published the book Ode to Happiness as their first collaborative project in 2011 before publicly appearing as a couple in 2019—manages their romantic relationship alongside their individual careers and their partnership as co-creators.

“He’s always so appreciative, so he’s always cautious with feedback, and I would say the same,” Grant, 53, shared with People in an interview published on May 29, regarding their artistic processes. “You want to always be respectful and leave the other person to bake their cake.”

“We know that we could discuss any issue or challenge or creative idea and talk about it endlessly if necessary,” Grant elaborated, noting they also find it essential to “honor the individual need to dive deep and have a process that’s perhaps quiet or in another collaboration.”

And it’s not all about work for the couple, who have been together for six years after initially meeting at a dinner party in 2009. Grant, who is also a winemaker, expressed, “Just talking about my love makes me sweat.”
