Kelly Clarkson Gets Emotional Discussing the End of Her Daytime Talk Show in Heartfelt Interview
Kelly Clarkson is eager to move beyond certain expectations.
Five months after announcing The Kelly Clarkson Show will conclude this year, the “Breakaway” singer humorously noted the differing rules for filming the NBC talk show compared to performing as a musician.
“I would get fired [by] NBC, but I don’t work there anymore,” Clarkson joked to the audience during the opening night of her Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace on July 17, as captured in footage by @jpasc24. “We are sad about [it]. It was a fun show.”
The Grammy winner proceeded to express her views on attending human resources meetings, humorously highlighting how some experiences she’s had on a tour bus would not be acceptable in corporate environments.
“It’s amusing, you go to those HR meetings and you’re like, ‘Nobody on the road would last,'” Clarkson explained. “It’s just a different world. I was 19 on a bus with guys. ‘What? I can’t do what?’ ‘Yeah, that’s completely inappropriate.’
