Khalid reflects on his personal and artistic growth since the release of his debut album, American Teen, and much more!

Tetris Kelly:

How are you feeling today, my friend?

Khalid:

I’m feeling great, thank you for having me! It’s always wonderful to connect and share what’s going on in my life and career.

We’re thrilled to have you here! Now, I must ask: Can you share one of your most memorable moments with Billboard, whether it’s a past event, a recent achievement, or something you aspire to accomplish in the future?

One of my most cherished moments with Billboard has to be when I first broke into the charts with my hit single “Location.” That track holds a special place in my heart because it was one of the first songs I ever wrote, and it came to me so naturally. Seeing the song resonate with listeners and remain popular nearly a decade later is incredibly gratifying and reaffirming for me as an artist.

Absolutely! Having a hit like that is a remarkable achievement, and you’ve continued to build on that success. Now that you’re releasing new music, tell me more about your latest single, “All I Know.”

“All I Know” is a collaboration with Rudimental, and I am incredibly grateful to have been included in this project. The song is a fantastic blend of EDM elements, which I genuinely enjoy listening to in my spare time. I love the opportunity to experiment with my sound and explore new musical directions, and this track really embodies that spirit of creativity and exploration.
