Knocked Loose Supports Woman Paralyzed at Louder Than Life

Knocked Loose is assisting a woman who suffered severe injuries during this year’s Louder Than Life festival.

The band’s hometown performance was announced just days before their set on September 18.

How is Knocked Loose Supporting a Fan Paralyzed at Louder Than Life?

During Knocked Loose’s performance at Louder Than Life, a fan was reportedly paralyzed after being struck by a falling individual from a tree.

Jamie Ulshoffer from Clarksville, Tennessee was taken to the hospital, where it was confirmed that she had severed her spine in the incident. A GoFundMe campaign was established to assist her family with medical expenses.

“We are initiating this GoFundMe to collect donations for Jamie and her husband, Conor, who is currently hospitalized with a severed spine and is likely to remain unable to walk,” stated Cheyenne Will, Ulshoffer’s niece, in the campaign.

The campaign has already raised nearly $30,000 of its $40,000 goal, with Knocked Loose contributing $8,000 to support Ulshoffer.

What Occurred Just Before Ulshoffer’s Injury?

Conor Ulshoffer informed Nashville-based television station WSMV that his wife was “sitting cross-legged” on the ground next to a friend during the band’s set. Conor was standing a few feet in front of her.

An unknown man then reportedly fell from the tree and landed on Jamie. Conor turned around to find his wife lying on her back with a “glossy look” in her eyes.

“As of now, according to what the doctor told me, she is permanently paralyzed from the waist down,” Conor shared with WSMV.

Louisville Police Response to the Louder Than Life Incident

Louisville Metro Police are aware of the incident that resulted in Ulshoffer’s paralysis. WHAS, based in Louisville, spoke with the department and learned that there is “no ongoing criminal investigation” regarding the man who allegedly fell from the tree, and it is now considered “a civil matter.”

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg told WHAS reporters this week that Louder Than Life organizers and emergency personnel worked “incredibly hard” to ensure everyone’s safety throughout the festival. This year’s event faced heavy storms that temporarily delayed some performances.

“Whenever someone is injured at one of our events, I empathize with them,” Greenberg expressed to WHAS. “I’m sorry that this happened. I don’t know all the details surrounding the individual falling from a tree, but certainly being in trees at a festival is not permitted.”
