The festival will kick off at Sydney’s Centennial Park on Friday, February 12, followed by Brisbane Showgrounds on Saturday, February 13. The next weekend, it returns to its traditional Melbourne venue at Flemington Park on Friday, February 19, and concludes at Auckland’s Western Springs on Sunday, February 21.

The announcement follows confirmation that Adelaide and Perth will not host Laneway in 2027 as organizers aim to streamline the festival’s operations. They stated that managing multiple events across Australia and New Zealand in a short timeframe influenced this decision.

“Managing numerous shows in close succession across vast distances is a logistical challenge we take pride in, but it also places significant demands on our lineup and crew,” organizers noted, emphasizing that this pause would allow them “to concentrate on enhancing the festival experience.” They clarified that these changes are not necessarily permanent.

The 2027 festival also signifies Laneway’s return to the Brisbane Showgrounds after the Queensland leg was relocated to Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast for the 2026 edition. The lineup details are yet to be revealed, with the first artist announcement anticipated in late September.

The announcement comes during a transitional phase for the festival, as festival director Jessie Parker recently announced her departure after 16 years. Laneway celebrated its 21st anniversary in 2026 with a lineup featuring Chappell Roan, Wolf Alice, Role Model, Wet Leg, PinkPantheress, and Geese.
