“The show is being rescheduled to July 28,” he stated, without providing any details on why he was unable to perform that night. “Please hold on to your tickets; they will be honored for the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.”

While Weezy has not elaborated on his absence, he made sure to convey to his loyal fans that they are important to him and that he will make amends. “I ain’t s–t without you,” he wrote. “I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.”

Local station WABI reported that after opener 2 Chainz completed his set, concertgoers “waited through a lengthy delay before being notified around 11 p.m. that Lil Wayne, 43, would not take the stage.” Disappointed fans who traveled long distances for the show expressed their frustration with their favorite rapper going missing. “I came here for Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz and it was the most terrible experience. We drove over six hours to be here,” said fan Rita Sack, who made the trek from Nova Scotia for the gig.

“Never mind the money. It’s like moments in life and that was going to be a moment. [My friend] left her six-month baby for the first time. Like, it’s people’s time. Just don’t waste people’s time,” she added. “We paid for Lil Wayne. Like, the least you can do is come out for a minute, apologize, you know? Like, just take the moment and be like, hey guys, sorry, not feeling it, feeling a little sick.”

The tour is scheduled to stop at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on Thursday night (July 2).
