A child is born between two powerful Marvel heroes after 19 years. It’s not rare to see love blossom between heroes, but it often doesn’t result in a child. If you were to rank power couples in the Marvel Universe, Black Panther and Storm would rank near the top. While no longer married, they can now say they’re parents.
Readers get to meet T’Challa and Storm’s son in Ultimate Black Panther #23, though it’s not the happy occasion one would think. Aside from fans realizing that Storm and Black Panther were intimate, their biologically advanced son is leading an army that is looking to conquer not only Wakanda, but the entire world.
This isn’t the first time fans have been presented with a potential offspring of Black Panther and Storm. Alternate universes and storylines have introduced several of their future sons, but this is the first time one of the men is pitted against their parents. Unfortunately, Black Panther and Storm will be forced to make a hard decision.
How T’Challa And Storm’s Son Has Been Turned Against Them In Ultimate Black Panther
Ultimate Black Panther #23 By Bryan Hill, Carlos Nieto, David Curiel, and VC’s Cory Petit, On Sale Now From Marvel Comics
After Black Panther defeats the Moon Knight duo of Ra and Khonshu, members of The Maker’s evil council, the King of Wakanda must contend with the Progenitors. They are the spirits that give Vibranium its amazing abilities. Unfortunately, the Progenitors aren’t the friendly type, and they have world domination on their mind.
Assisting the Progenitors are the Vodu-Khan, who are supposed to be loyal to the Wakandan throne. Instead, the Vodu-Khan turn on Black Panther and align with the Progenitors, believing they will usher in a new era for Wakanda. Part of the Vodu-Khan’s goal is to bring about their true leader, the Child of Light.
This prophesied Child of Light is none other than Storm’s baby. The Vodu-Khan magically advances her pregnancy and possess the baby with the Progenitors’ mystical forces. The boy now grows older with each passing moment, and while an age isn’t given, he appears to be either a young adolescent or a full-grown adult.
Storm and Black Panther aren’t given any time to react to their unborn son leading a powerful army. While their first thoughts are to save him, Bast states that they shouldn’t think of him as human anymore. Their son is just a vessel now. T’Challa agrees, but Storm doesn’t see it that way.
If you’re confused since Storm and Killmonger debut as a couple in Ultimate Black Panther, the Child of Light refers to T’Challa as “father.” Black Panther takes Storm with him while they track down the Progenitors, so clearly they share a romantic moment or two. It’s an awkward love affair when you also remember that Okoye is T’Challa’s queen.
Marvel Teases Storm’s Future Daughter, But Is Black Panther The Father, Or Another Avenger?
Readers Meet Storm’s Daughter Furaha in X-Men: Hellfire Vigil #1
While we have lots of instances of Storm having a son with Black Panther, readers get to meet Furaha, Storm’s daughter, in X-Men: Hellfire Vigil #1. The storyline features the cosmic entity Eternity granting Storm a glimpse of her future, which includes an introduction to Furaha. Readers also get some interesting clues regarding the child.
Furaha reveals that she has her father’s black hair and his fangs, Storm’s blue eyes, and both parents’ powers. Black hair and fangs lead to potential father candidates like Black Panther or Blade, but it could also be Wolverine. Storm and Logan share a romantic rendezvous in a previous issue of her solo series.
Storm’s daughter also reveals the day and time that she’ll be born: June 16 at 6:16, which is the numerical value for the Marvel Prime Universe. It’s an intriguing mystery for Marvel to tease as we head into 2026. Who is the father? How will Storm juggle being an X-Man, Avenger, and now mother?
Ultimate Black Panther #23 is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
