The Spring 2027 season of London Fashion Week bestowed upon us the long-awaited return of the McQueen label to the schedule. After several years of showing in Paris, the first since 2001, Seán McGirr staged quite the LFW homecoming under the ancient vaults in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. Boasting McQueen’s signature tailoring and futuristic edge, from metallic harnesses and devil-horn hairstyles to sharply structured peplum jackets, the collection was a celebration of London, the city at the heart of McQueen. “This collection is a celebration of London’s ceaselessly stimulating and transcendent power,” McGirr wrote in the show notes.
Review of the McQueen Spring 2027 Collection
Reactions from theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Um, I’m sorry but this was an absolute joke.” [pradabananas]
“A total mess. He ripped off like every possible designer out there!” [FashionPower]
“The first look was showing some promise! I had hopes! But that quickly escalated into a tortured horror. I couldn’t even finish it. Such a clown show.” [Norden]
“So uninspiring. The menswear in particular was really bad. Leftovers from the 2010s.” [disco54]
“To call this soulless would be an understatement. It’s just random McQueen-isms thrown onto some nice tailoring. I think this brand was doomed from the very beginning because the industry no longer produces designers and directors who THINK like Lee did.” [Squizree]
“The horns are insane in 2026. I couldn’t think of a quicker way to be irrelevant.” [Nimsay]
“McGirr’s execution slips into such juvenile territory of what seems to be a teenage girl drawing Bratz dolls in McQueen-inspired looks. The execution of some looks is downright basic.” [reese06]
“He gotta go!!” [fenty]
