Steven Spielberg is looking forward to the release of his UFO film, Disclosure Day. Amid this, he talked about meeting aliens in real life in a recent interview.
In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Steven Spielberg opened up about the idea of meeting aliens. “I would not be the right person to be the first person to interact with the off-world species,” he said. The Jurassic Park director continued, “I think it’s much, much more complicated than that.” Moreover, he explained that he will look forward to a real-life disclosure day.
“Just knowing someday that that could be an opportunity for all of us to see something like Disclosure Day actually happening in the world — that would be the day I would really look forward to,” the 79-year-old said. Spielberg also said, “I’m not asking to see aliens in real life,” the Oscar-winning director stated.
He added, “I’m saying with all the movies I made about non-human civilizations coming to Earth, I should be afforded the opportunity just to see one Tic Tac. I mean, just a Tic Tac would be fine by now!” By Tic Tac, Spielberg is referring to the 2004 incident. It was about two Navy F/A-18F fighter jets that encountered an unidentified phenomenon. In another interview, he answered an interesting question. The director was asked if he would react any differently than he did 50 years ago if an alien showed up at his doorstep.
“When I made “E.T.,” I watched Henry Thomas and Drew Barrymore completely enthralled with E.T. Especially Drew, who believed E.T. was not being controlled by 15 special effects people but was actually a living, breathing entity,” the director answered USA Today. Seeing a child’s belief, Spielberg wondered if “only children can believe in extraterrestrial life.”
