Morgan Wallen Violated SNL COVID-19 Protocols
Morgan Wallen was set to be the musical guest on SNL in October 2020, but he was removed from the show after images and videos of him partying in Alabama circulated online, violating the show’s COVID-19 guidelines.
“I was preparing for SNL this Saturday when I received a call from the show informing me that I would no longer be able to perform due to COVID protocols, which I understand,” Wallen stated in a video shared on social media at the time. “I’m not positive for COVID, but my actions this past weekend were quite short-sighted and have clearly impacted my long-term goals and dreams.”
The artist known for “Last Night” accepted responsibility for his behavior.
“On a more personal note, I believe I have some growing up to do,” he added. “I think I’ve lost myself a bit. I’ve sought joy in the wrong places and it has left me feeling less joyful. So, I’m going to take some time away from the spotlight to work on myself.”
While Jack White filled in as the musical guest, Wallen was given another opportunity to perform on SNL that December and even made light of the situation in one of the sketches.
