Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey‘s twins, Moroccan "Roc" Cannon and Monroe "Roe" Cannon, are officially entering their teenage years.

As the Nickelodeon star noted, his children, who recently celebrated their 14th birthday on April 30, have reached an age where traditional birthday parties no longer appeal to them. They have become “too cool” for such celebrations, opting for more unique experiences instead.

In a heartfelt April 30 Instagram post, Nick expressed his disbelief at how quickly time is passing, saying, “Somebody slow this thing down!!! Please!!!” He shared that his oldest children “didn’t even want a birthday party,” which reflects the evolving dynamics of growing up.

To make the day special, Nick took Roc and Roe along with their teenage friends to The Basement, an immersive, horror-themed escape room located in Los Angeles that features live performers to enhance the experience. He described this outing as “scary and mindblowing to say the least,” emphasizing how much Roc, Roe, and their friends enjoyed the adventure while allowing him to tag along as a chaperone.

In fact, Nick humorously noted in a video capturing their escapades that the twins seemed to prefer not having him around. “What the hell is that?” the Drumline actor joked, revealing that being locked inside a room for entertainment was “not my idea of birthday fun.” It’s a reminder of how quickly children grow up and how their preferences shift over time.

He further lamented, “What happened to amusement parks and house parties?” highlighting the nostalgia for simpler celebrations that resonate with a different era of childhood.
