We have compiled the most and least played songs from all 17 Megadeth albums, starting from the 1985 debut Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good! to the 2026’s final LP, Megadeth.

Among these 17 studio LPs, five records have achieved platinum status in the United States, with sales (and/or streaming equivalents) exceeding one million copies. The legendary thrash band led by Dave Mustaine reached peak commercial success from 1986 to 1994, producing five consecutive platinum albums, with 1992’s Countdown to Extinction even going double platinum to become the highest-selling Megadeth LP.

Megadeth’s last RIAA certification was awarded to 1997’s Cryptic Writings, which achieved gold status and featured the significant single “Trust.” Unsurprisingly, this track has been performed live the most over the years.

While the ten studio records released since Cryptic Writings have not reached gold status or better in the U.S., they have been quite successful. Six of those ten albums landed in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, and the self-titled effort in 2026 even debuted at No. 1 in its first week after release!

Megadeth is currently on a global farewell tour with no established end date yet. It is unlikely that some of the least played songs from the band’s 17 albums will be included in the setlist during this farewell run, but fans can expect to see some of the most popular live tracks!
