Myles Kennedy Talks New Albums with Alter Bridge and Slash

“I think that’s why this has worked out with Alter Bridge and with Slash, because everybody is on the same page.”

Myles Kennedy made a special appearance on Loudwire Nights on Thursday (Jan. 16) to share insights about his current projects, including a thrilling solo tour that celebrates his latest album, The Art of Letting Go. This tour not only highlights his personal artistry but also emphasizes his commitment to connecting with fans through live performances, a key element of his musical journey.

“We have the same mission in life, which is to make as much music as humanly possible,” Kennedy revealed to host Chuck Armstrong. His passion for music is palpable, and listeners can enjoy the full conversation in the player located toward the end of this article, where he delves deeper into his creative process.

“A day without making music is a waste of a day, right?” This philosophy has driven Kennedy since his early days in music, and it continues to guide him as he embarks on new creative ventures. With his solo tour kicking off on Friday night (Jan. 17), he is also turning his thoughts toward the future of Alter Bridge and their next big album project.

“I should have been hanging out over the holidays, relaxing, but instead I was writing and making demos for the last three weeks of my life,” he shared. This commitment to the craft is both inspiring and indicative of his dedication to his art. Kennedy expressed excitement about reuniting with his bandmates to “get back in the saddle” and reignite the creative energy that drives Alter Bridge.

In addition to his solo endeavors and the forthcoming Alter Bridge album, Kennedy is also eagerly looking forward to his next collaboration with Slash. “We’ve got this record that I need to lay vocals down on,” he mentioned, showcasing his busy schedule that balances multiple projects and commitments.

“The guys were hard at work and got, I think, most of it knocked out and now I just have to find a window between touring and everything I’ve got coming up to get my vocals recorded.” This insight into his workflow illustrates the dedication and effort he invests in his music, ensuring that every project receives the attention it deserves.

Fortunately, Kennedy noted that prior to his European tour in 2024, he managed to share some vocal tracks with Slash for feedback. “The good news is the hard part is done as far as what I need to get done. Now I just need to actually track it,” he said, reflecting a sense of relief and accomplishment amidst his busy schedule.
