Naruto has secured its position among classic anime shonen. It has remained relevant for decades, with many children still dressing up as the character, and the term “Naruto run” has entered the vocabulary of numerous fans, regardless of whether they follow Naruto or not.

The character designs contribute to its lasting appeal, along with Bandai Namco’s commitment to keeping this anime in the spotlight. A recent announcement from Bandai Namco confirms that something new is coming for Naruto in October.

In October, Bandai Namco will launch the second wave of content for Set 2 of the Naruto Mythos card game, one of two Naruto card games under the company’s umbrella. The other version is expected next year and is highly anticipated, but Naruto Mythos is already on Set 2. This set is titled “Shinobi Shiren,” with the first wave released earlier in September, while the second wave is scheduled for October.

The team has received extensive feedback from Set 1, which has been integrated into Set 2: “We received amazing feedback on the numbered cards from Set 1, where we introduced 4 alternate secret rare cards limited to 75 copies each. With Set 2, we’re taking this concept even further – introducing a more refined and structured numbering system. This will not only enhance long-term collectible value but also give collectors even more high-value cards to chase.” “Real 22K gold” with micro-engraved text will also return in Set 2.

The distribution of card rarities will be adjusted to enhance accessibility, while some will remain highly limited, aligning with the previously mentioned numbered rare cards. Consequently, several new rarity levels are being introduced across the entire set:

“We understand that extremely limited cards (like runs of 50, 250, or 500) can be challenging to acquire, so we aimed to create a better balance. That’s why we’re also launching a new rarity tier for special designs, with a defined pull rate. This keeps cards exciting to pursue while still providing more players a fair chance at owning something unique.”

However, there is a caveat to all this Naruto card game news. The original pre-release weekend scheduled for the end of August was canceled. Although Set 2 (1st Edition) was released earlier this month, Special Pack Design A has been postponed to October.
