Stevie Nicks is currently in the process of creating a highly anticipated new album that has generated significant excitement among fans and music enthusiasts alike. On Wednesday, during her induction into the Pollstar Hall of Fame, Nicks delivered an inspiring speech detailing the circumstances surrounding her new project. She referred to this upcoming album as a “ghost record,” a concept that emerged in the wake of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. Fortunately, Nicks’ residence in Southern California was spared, although she did face the challenge of evacuation during this crisis.
“It just really kinda happened in the last couple of weeks because of, you know, the fires,” she shared candidly. “I was sitting in a hotel for 92 days, and at some point during that last part of the 92 days, I said, ‘You know what? I feel like I’m on the road, but there’s no shows.’ I’m just sitting here by myself because everybody else is at the house, doing all the remediations and everything, and it’s just me, sitting here. And I thought, ‘You need to go back to work.’ And I did.” This moment of introspection and creativity during a challenging time has led her back to her musical roots.
