On the closing day of Paris Fashion Week, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s schedule served up the Spring 2027 collection of Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis Vuitton. The celebrated designer transformed the Louvre courtyard into a retro-inspired carpark. Models (including Awar Odhiang and Mona Tougaard) emerged from backstage as floating automobiles were displayed on the runway. Crisp shirts, sequinned dresses, ruffled collars, metallic fringes, and pops of color were on display. “I wanted to express a sensation of simplicity—a quest for purity,” Ghesquière stated after the unveiling of the mind-bending collection.
Review of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2027 Collection
Reactions from theFashionSpot’s Forum Members:
“Unimpressive and forgettable.” [imjustken]
“It’s truly hideous. One of the ugliest collections I’ve seen.” [Magic Spells]
“This wasn’t groundbreaking, but it is refreshing to see that NG can still pair it back and present wearable clothes for the everyday. I really enjoyed the relaxed tailoring.” [charmedp321]
“Loved everything. It’s a very concise collection that’s not interested in anything more than being light, modest, and wearable. I’m glad he went for an easier silhouette because it’s a side he doesn’t lean into as often as his more tailored offerings. I think the color palette is my favorite thing about it. The sheer silvery fabrics especially.” [Squizree]
“This was a definite highlight for me! The long dresses are especially good!” [Mrs.T]
“What a refreshing collection…” [Lola701]
“I think it was good, but it did not move me one bit. I believe I’ve had enough of Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis Vuitton. We’ve had some great collections and some really bad ones, and I’m ready to move on. The formula is starting to feel stale to me, and the constant experimentation and mashup of references no longer impress me.” [GivenchyHomme]
