The raging flames have led to the shutdown of a significant portion of the Garden State Parkway during the evening rush hour, resulting in tripled commute times for many. According to a report by The New York Times, embers have jumped over the parkway, igniting flames near the defunct Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant. Fortunately, the structures have managed to withstand the fire.
A massive plume of smoke was visible from miles away on Tuesday night, triggering panic among residents in nearby Toms River as they braced for possible evacuation orders. At this time, the metropolitan area remains free from an evacuation mandate, providing some relief to residents.

As of Wednesday morning, the Jones Street Wildfire remains only 10% contained. Fire crews have been deployed with bulldozers, aerial support, and fire engines in an urgent effort to bring the flames under control as swiftly as possible.
