Seating Dispute Turns Violent At Ohio Graduation
Reports indicate that the incident occurred on Thursday morning, May 21, as families gathered for the ceremony. Police reported that tensions rose as parents occupied seats in the school’s viewing area. Disagreements over seating arrangements quickly escalated in front of families and staff. Authorities responded shortly after 8:45 a.m. following reports of a disturbance involving multiple adults.
A 26-year-old individual was transported to the hospital for treatment following the altercation. Meanwhile, police arrested 28-year-old Jessica Anderson at the scene, charging her with felonious assault. Court documents obtained by local outlets allege that Anderson intensified the situation by pulling someone’s hair and slamming their head into a chair, causing injuries that required stitches. Police booked her shortly before noon while they worked to restore order.

Video footage shared with reporters depicted several adults pushing, striking, and tumbling over chairs in the crowded viewing area as others attempted to intervene and separate those involved. Witnesses described the chaos as families settled in, with tensions escalating beyond mere verbal disagreements.
Parent Craig Mays told WTVG that the confrontation began when one family rearranged seating and claimed space, leading to frustration from others who felt their view was obstructed. He noted that the situation escalated from verbal exchanges to physical violence, claiming he was “sucker punched” before being assaulted by multiple individuals after falling to the ground.
