Olivia Wilde’s Startling Reaction to San Francisco Film Festival

Olivia Wilde is not concerned about her viral red carpet appearance, darling.

The Don’t Worry Darling star responded to criticism of her look after a video circulated online from the San Francisco International Film Festival on April 24.

As her brother Charles Cockburn asked in a video shared to her Instagram Stories on May 3, “Olivia Wilde, do you care to address recent rumors that you’re a resurrected corpse?”

Editing a photo of Olivia from the now-viral SFGATE interview during the event—where she wore a drop-waist black skirt and white T-shirt—next to an image of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings, the Tron: Legacy actress reacted to what online users perceived as her slimmed-down appearance.

“Listen, that is a fisheye lens,” Olivia explained regarding her altered look. “And I admit, is that my best angle? Was that my best ever look? No, it’s a startling image.”

“I don’t know why I was so close to the camera,” she continued with a laugh. “I didn’t have to be. That’s not the truth.”

Further emphasizing her point, the 42-year-old joked, “I’m not dead.”

She also teased her brother’s line of questioning, writing onscreen, “Leave it to your little brother to give you the maximum amount of s–t.”
