Netflix’s new TV and movie releases for the week of July 6-July 12, 2026 include the Oscar-winning Hamnet and a One Piece special.
The film Hamnet is based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Maggie O’Farrell. The historical drama chronicles the life of William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes Hathaway after they lost their 11-year-old son, Hamnet, and imagines how the grief inspired Shakespeare to write his classic play, Hamlet. The film opened to critical acclaim and performed well at the box office. It also received numerous accolades, including an Oscar for Best Actress for Jessie Buckley‘s leading performance as Hathaway.
Also coming to Netflix is One Piece: Heroines. Based on the light novel spin-off series, the special anime episode follows Nami walking the ramp at a fashion show in exchange for getting her favorite shoes repaired by an eccentric designer.
