The popular Netflix series, which debuted in 2020, will conclude with its fifth and final season this August. However, there are more plans for fans before the heartfelt goodbye.
The synopsis for the final season states, “Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ (Rudy Pankow) in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats.”

According to Deadline, Netflix has announced Pogues For Life: A Fan Farewell Event With The Cast Of Outer Banks. This event will take place on August 15, 2026, in Los Angeles, just before the final season’s premiere. The event will be livestreamed on Tudum.com.
The event will also feature the inaugural Pogue Awards, a fan-voted ceremony celebrating iconic moments from the series. Following the awards, Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant, and Drew Starkey will take the stage for a cast interview with fans.
The event will conclude with a screening of the Season 5 premiere. The final season of Outer Banks will be available for streaming on August 20, 2026.
