New details have emerged regarding the death of Patrick Muldoon.
After the Days of Our Lives star passed away on April 19 at the age of 57, his cause of death was confirmed as a myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, according to his death certificate obtained by Us Weekly.
The certificate—issued by the County of Los Angeles’ Department of Public Health—also revealed several underlying conditions that contributed to his death, including hereditary coagulopathy disorder, which affects blood clotting, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. Additionally, the document indicated he suffered from a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that travels to the lungs and obstructs blood flow, as stated by the Cleveland Clinic.
Muldoon was cremated on April 28, as noted on his death certificate, which identified his profession as an actor and producer.
The Melrose Place star’s sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa previously shared that her brother died from a heart attack while providing a heartfelt look at the last video their family received from Muldoon.
