What did Vince Gilligan reveal about the development of Pluribus Season 2?
Vince Gilligan has provided a promising update on the progress of Pluribus Season 2, indicating that they have made substantial headway on the next chapter.
The creator discussed the status of the upcoming season during a recent interview with Deadline. While responding to a question about the future of the show, Gilligan revealed that development has moved beyond the halfway mark. He said, “Well, we’re about a little past the halfway point. My writers and I have figured out the episodes.”
The showrunner also acknowledged that every new season presents its own challenges at the beginning. “It always — every season on every show — starts out hard. And then you just stay with it long enough. I’m starting to get to the point where I’m thinking, I’m looking forward to shooting this, and people seeing it, because I’m kind of digging it,” he explained. Gilligan then turned to series star Rhea Seehorn and said, “You’re in it.”
The latest update follows similar comments made by another one of Pluribus writer Gordon Smith several weeks earlier. During a separate interview, Smith confirmed that work on Season 2 was actively underway. He said, “We are writing, we’re about midway through Season 2, breaking it.”
He also expressed optimism that filming could begin either toward the end of 2026 or during the opening months of 2027. “We’re doing the best we can and we’re hoping to get back to work shooting sometime hopefully by the end of this year or early next year,” Smith noted.
Seehorn leads Pluribus as Carol alongside Karolina Wydra, Carlos-Manuel Vesga, Soledad Campos, and more.
