Anna Faris is open to having deep conversations with her son.
The Scary Movie actress shared her thoughts on discussing religion with her and ex-husband Chris Pratt’s son Jack, particularly as the 14-year-old is more devout than she is.
“I didn’t grow up with religion,” Faris told host Chelsea Handler on the Dear Chelsea podcast on Aug. 20. “He’s asked me to accept Jesus Christ, and I told him I would do anything for him, including this, but it’s gonna take a whole lot of long conversations.”
The 49-year-old felt confident in having those discussions with the teen because he’s “as solid as a tugboat, emotionally.”
“He just doesn’t get easily jarred,” she mentioned, “he handles situations really well.”
These situations include the discussions he has with Faris, where she often challenges his views on life.
“He’s impressive, actually. He’s impressive because I try to challenge him,” Faris noted. “I’m like, ‘Do you think it’s a luxury that you get to be pro-life? Do you think that’s kind of a luxury?’ And he’s like, ‘Maybe.’ Or I’ll say, ‘So what do you think of this mega pastor that’s kind of a grifter? What do you think?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, mega pastors are the worst.’ So it’s like, ‘OK, he’s getting there.’”
