    The dragon of Rhaenyra Targaryen has taken to the skies.

    Syrax from <em>House of the Dragon</em> has been seen soaring across the UK as season 3 of the fantasy series continues airing on HBO and HBO Max. Every Targaryen is destined to have a dragon, and the main character of the Game of Thrones prequel series is no exception. Although Syrax has only appeared a few times in House of the Dragon season 3 so far, this dragon is Rhaenyra’s loyal companion, who has been under her care since her youth.

    Fortunately, Syrax doesn’t come equipped with anything resembling Drogon from Game of Thrones season 8. The dragon’s flight has been widely shared on social media following its appearances on July 21 and July 22 mornings. Given what has transpired in season three so far, Syrax’s presence mirrors its arrival in King’s Landing with Rhaenyra—a pivotal moment in their ongoing Dance of Dragons saga. This mechanical marvel shows no interest in usurping any kings.

    The third season of House of the Dragon airs Sundays on HBO and HBO Max, with three episodes remaining at this time. This series is among several spinoffs set in Westeros following Game of Thrones’ conclusion, including next year’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season two and Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest—a film yet to announce its release date.
