Richard Gere Comments on Son Homer Gere’s Euphoria Role

Homer Gere, a rising star in acting.

Richard Gere expresses admiration for his eldest son’s rapid ascent in the acting world following his surprising role in the final season of HBO’s Euphoria.

“I would have been happy to say, ‘Homer, forget it. Don’t do this,'” he exclusively told E! News’ Will Marfuggi while promoting season two of The Agency. “But he wasn’t directed towards it. This came late. He’s 26 years old.”

“He was an artist,” Richard explained of Homer, whom he shares with ex-wife Carey Lowell. “He had a degree in visual arts and his second was in psychology. He was in a different mindset altogether, and this started as a fluke with him making student films, writing them, directing them, acting in them, and just having fun.”

However, the 76-year-old’s view on his son’s acting potential shifted when Homer finally revealed what he had been working on.

“He showed me what he was doing,” he recalled, “and I said, ‘You are really good.’
