Rock: Comparing Old School and New School Styles

What is your favorite genre this week – classic rock or contemporary rock? That’s what we want to know as we prepare to deliver an exciting rock block either way as part of this week’s Chuck’s Fight Club on the Loudwire Nights Radio show.

It’s called “classic rock” for a reason. With legendary acts such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and others laying the foundation for eras of remarkable rock music to come, how can you go wrong? There are numerous great rock songs that have shaped the hard rocking style we all cherish, and if “classic rock” is your preference, we’ll present you with a set of iconic rock classics.

However, while those bands have forged their path, a new generation of bands is emerging with stories yet to be told. Groups like Spiritbox and Pop Evil may be crafting the classics of tomorrow. If “contemporary rock” is your preference, we’ll showcase some of the finest offerings from today’s rock scene.

As with all Chuck’s Fight Club battles, Loudwire Nights host Chuck Armstrong will introduce the matchup in the 8PM hour of Monday’s show. Individual arguments will be presented for both styles of music on Tuesday and Wednesday while you continue to rank each. On Friday, the votes will be counted, and the higher-ranked style will be featured in a Loudwire Nights rock block during the 8PM hour.

This is just a reminder that Loudwire Nights with Chuck Armstrong airs nightly starting at 7PM ET. You can tune in anytime, from anywhere right here or by downloading the Loudwire app.
