Seavey, who launched his global tour in promotion of his debut album Second Wind back in March, informed his dedicated fanbase about his vocal struggles last month when he had to postpone the final six dates of his European leg. This decision came after he realized the seriousness of his condition and prioritized his health over performances.

“My doctors have clearly stated that my vocal cords are entirely unusable at this moment, and any attempt to push them could lead to permanent and irreversible damage,” he expressed to fans on social media on May 13. Despite his efforts to “spend the next few weeks investigating these issues and finding solutions” in preparation for his shows in Australia and New Zealand, Seavey’s vocal challenges have continued to persist. “Hey everyone, I have some really tough news to share,” Seavey communicated on social media over the weekend. “My doctor has mandated another three weeks of vocal rest to ensure this issue is fully resolved and does not return, which means I have to delay my shows in Australia for a few weeks.” His commitment to recovery highlights the challenges artists face when dealing with health issues.

Seavey’s Australian tour was originally set to kick off in Perth on Saturday, June 7, before he was scheduled to visit major cities including Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, culminating in a performance in Auckland, New Zealand. New dates have already been announced, with Seavey now set to perform in Auckland on August 2, followed by Australian dates in the subsequent days. Seavey initially gained fame in 2015 when he placed in the top nine of the 14th season of American Idol.
