The renowned rock band Scorpions have announced a postponement of their highly anticipated 2025 Las Vegas residency to allow drummer Mikkey Dee more time to recover from a serious battle with sepsis, a life-threatening condition. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the band stated, “We regret to inform you that due to Mikkey Dee’s ongoing recovery from his recent hospitalization, we have made the decision to postpone our Coming Home to Las Vegas Residency to August 2025.” This announcement follows the initial plans for their “Coming Home to Las Vegas 60th Anniversary” residency, which was set to kick off on February 27 at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, with performances scheduled throughout March. The new dates for this exciting residency will now take place from August 14 to 23, marking the third installment of their Las Vegas performances since 2022. Notably, Buckcherry is still set to provide supporting performances for the rescheduled shows.

Mikkey Dee recently opened up about his harrowing experience with sepsis, a serious bacterial blood infection that nearly cost him his life. In a candid Facebook post, he shared, “This holiday season, I have been hospitalized with a very serious blood infection (Sepsis). I was admitted for three weeks but now I am home fighting this bastard bacteria. Thankfully, I have received fantastic care at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, my hometown. So thanks a million to all the Doctors and Nurses that have been giving me the most excellent care.” His gratitude towards the medical professionals highlights the importance of quality healthcare and support during such critical times.

Before joining Scorpions in 2016, Dee enjoyed a successful career with Motörhead for over two decades. He reflected on the severity of his condition, stating that he was dangerously close to reuniting with his late bandmate, Lemmy Kilmister. “They cut away what was dead and infected and badly infested. It was not a good journey I was on,” he recounted in an interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. He poignantly added, “Another day and I’d be playing drums with Lemmy in heaven.
